6 DAY TASMANIA BOTTOM TO TOP TOUR
ITINERARY (B-Breakfast, L-Lunch)
Day One – Launceston, Hobart, Port Arthur – L
Pick up from your Hotel ,then drive via the Heritage Highway to the historic Midland towns of Ross (carved stone bridge) and Oatlands (working old wind mill). We pick up in Hobart and drive to the top of Mt Wellington (1270 m) for spectacular views. After having lunch at the Constitution dock we head in to Tasman Peninsula to view Tasman National Park and its sea cliffs and the nature’s wonders – the Blow Hole, Tasman Arch and Devil’s Kitchen. Overnight -Port Arthur
Day Two – Port Arthur, East Coast, Bicheno – B&L
Visit Port Arthur Historical Site to learn about convicts history of Tasmania, join in guided tour of the site; then a short visit to a local chocolate factory “Federation Chocolates” before leaving the Tasman Peninsula for the East Coast. Next is Swansea – a beautiful East Coast town. We also visit Freycinet National Park. We can stop at suitable location for you to taste freshly picked succulent oysters (own expense). At Bicheno a locally guided penguin tour is optional. Overnight -Bicheno
Day Three – Bicheno, St Helens, Launceston – B&L
Be amazed at Blow Hole at the rockeries of Bicheno. Visit a wildlife park where you can hold wombat and see devils and many other Tasmanian wildlife animals. Then head to Swansea and St Helens warmest towns of Tasmania. Binalong Bay is one of the best beaches with white sandy beach and red granite-rock. The coastline lies beyond the beach called of the Bay of Fire. Heading towards Launceston via Scottsdale we will view Tasmania’s second highest waterfall, St Columba Falls (90m), carved memorial trees at Legerwood. Arrive in Launceston about 17:45. Overnight at Launceston
Day Four – Launceston, Mole Creek, Cradle Mountain –B&L
At Launceston we visit “Cataract Gorge” a jewel of the city where we have refreshing walk and see peacock strolling around. Then we leave the city towards North West via Devonport and Burnie to Wynyard-Table Cape to see great coastal view from the lighthouse (Tulip Farm-seasonal), Boat Harbour Beach (one of the best beaches in Tassie), Rocky Cape to view unusual formation of rocks and the coastline), then arrive in Stanley, a historic town and spectacular “Circular Head or The Nut”, Highfield Historic Site. Overnight at Stanley
Day Five – Stanley, Burnie, Cradle Mt – B&L
Chairlift or walk up to top of “the Nut” then head to Dip Falls and see amazing Big Tree (16 m circumferences), Guide Falls. Then continue towards the World Heritage listed Cradle Mountain National Park. We have short time at Cradle Mt for a short walk. Overnight at Cradle Mountain
Day Six – Cradle Mt, Mole Creek, Launceston – B&L
In the morning short drive to famous Dove Lake, view the magnificent Cradle Mountain at the background, take a short walk to glacier rock and then enjoy pleasant walk along the creek called “enchanted walk” and see beautiful cascade and Pencil Pine waterfall. Visit the old “Waldheim Cottage” of pioneer Gustav Weindorfer who made Cradle Mt worldwide famous.. On the way back to Launceston visit Maracoopa Cave near Mole Creek for a guided tour of limestone cave that is millions of years old then stop by Chudleigh Honey Farm for honey tasting and a honey ice-cream (own expense). Tour concludes in Launceston at 17:45. Drop off at the Launceston airport if required at 17:30.
